It will take place in Beijing on October 29, with registration open for conference attendance and business matchmaking.

Going abroad is easy to describe and much harder to do. For Chinese companies looking beyond the domestic market, expansion can mean finding new customers, investors, suppliers, and partners, often in places where the commercial rules, business networks, and local knowledge are unfamiliar.

That has made the mechanics of cross-border expansion more important. Market intelligence needs to arrive early enough to be useful. Introductions need to lead somewhere. And prospective partnerships, however promising on paper, ultimately have to become investable projects.

Those practical questions will sit at the center of the Beijing International Investment and Trade Conference, or BIIT, on October 29 at The Kunlun Beijing. Hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Beijing Sub-council and the Beijing Chamber of International Commerce, the conference will bring together government representatives from China and overseas, companies, think tanks, and investment institutions to discuss investment opportunities in Beijing, cross-regional industrial collaboration, and support for companies expanding across borders.

The event will also include one-on-one business matchmaking sessions, intended to give Chinese companies and international organizations a more direct way to explore two-way investment and industrial cooperation.

BIIT 2026 will cover three thematic areas. All times are local (GMT+8).

B2B business matchmaking

BIIT will host a series of B2B matchmaking sessions designed to connect Chinese companies with overseas organizations and potential partners.

Meetings will be arranged based on the stated needs of both sides. During registration, companies will be asked to identify the overseas organizations they want to meet and explain what they are looking for as precisely as possible. Organizers and participating institutions will then review those requests alongside each company’s business profile to determine suitable matches.

The meetings will run from 2 to 4 p.m. on October 29, with each session lasting 20–30 minutes.

This year’s participating overseas organizations span Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, and include investment promotion agencies, economic development organizations, free zones, and other international cooperation platforms. Their priorities vary by market and industry, making the preparation before the meeting almost as important as the meeting itself.

Companies are therefore encouraged to review each organization’s focus areas and priority sectors before submitting a matchmaking request.
